Disclosure: these are referral links. ProxyReview may receive a commission if you sign up through one, at no additional cost to you. Referral relationships do not influence our testing, measurements or rankings. Success rates reflect our recorded automated attempts, not the full unpublished dataset. We use safeguards to reduce the impact of host, network, proxy and measurement failures, but these results reflect our own experience and things can still go wrong.
The metrics
Advertised pool sizes and uptime badges tell you nothing. These are the five signals that decide whether a network survives a real workload.
Connect, first byte and full response, measured per request rather than averaged into a single flattering number.
How a network holds up when concurrency climbs, not how it behaves on a single idle request from a clean IP.
Whether an exit node is genuinely in the country and city it was sold as, checked against multiple independent geolocation sources.
How many distinct exit IPs you really see over a sustained run, and how often they repeat.
The share of requests that come back as a block page, a challenge or a silent redirect. This is the metric providers publish least and customers feel most.
Every network is put through the same suite, on the same hardware, on the same schedule. Nothing is tuned per provider.
Plans are bought at retail price through ordinary accounts. Providers are not told which accounts belong to us and get no chance to prepare.
Identical request suites run from the same infrastructure against the same target set, around the clock, across every region a network claims to serve.
Aggregates, methodology and failure cases are released together. A provider having a bad quarter is part of the record, not a reason to withhold it.
A provider that performs well on residential in Germany can fall apart on mobile in Brazil. We test the whole surface.
Nobody pays to be in this dataset. Nobody pays to be left out of it.
ProxyReview is funded independently. We buy the plans, we run the tests, and we publish what the numbers say about them.
Full results, the methodology behind them and the raw aggregates will all be published here. Testing continues in the meantime.
